We have teamed up with The Somerville Foundation to bring teenagers and young people all around the UK a fun and informative conference day, followed by an overnight stay and fun activities. The informal, interactive day conference will involve medical professionals and other patients alike, giving you real, practical information and support on issues that may affect you growing up with a heart condition. We are still working on firming up the program at the moment, but topics we have addressed in the past include:

Drugs and drinking
Sex, contraception and parenthood
Medical devices and implants, such as pacemakers and valves
Bullying
Going to university
Having a career and a heart condition

After the day conference finishes, we will be travelling to our hotel in Stratford (London), where we will rest, relax and then hit the shops and go bowling! After a good night’s sleep, the next morning there will be plenty of time to chat with new friends, staff and volunteers over a yummy breakfast, and give us your feedback. The whole event will be fully supported by lots of friendly staff, volunteers and cardiac liaison nurses.
