Publication of a technical notice for organs, tissues and cells
The Human Tissue Authority has noted that the Government has published a Technical Notice providing information on how tissues, cells and organs for transplantation can continue to pass between EU Member States and the UK following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU in the event of a no-deal scenario.
The purpose of this notice is to set out to organisations, businesses and members of the public the actions they should consider taking, to ensure continued access to and use of organs, tissues and cells, including reproductive cells, in the unlikely event that the UK leaves the EU in March 2019 with no agreement in place.
The publication of a further notice is expected later this year and will be shared once it has been published.
