LV= Broker is part of Liverpool Victoria Friendly society and specialise in selling personal lines insurance through insurance brokers. In 2010, LV= staff were joined by a team of insurance brokers to make a team of 24 who decided to take on the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge!
The LV= team raised a staggering total of £11,905 in support of children with heart conditions from all over the UK and Ireland. Whilst training for this challenge the team also found the time to publicise this to their local newspapers along with adding it into their internal newsletter which helped them to raise even more for Children’s Heart Federation.
How did team LV= feel about their challenge?
“This was by far the hardest, most physical challenge I have done by a long way. My colleagues and I achieved something that will live with us all for a long time and to do this for such a fantastic cause made every step and aching muscle worth while.”
“The Yorkshire Peaks is a really gruelling challenge, consisting of 25 miles and a combined climb of 2142 meters within 12 hours. It was described by many of the participants as one of the toughest things they had ever taken on. The sense of personal achievement felt by all was immense and to see everyone who took part completing the challenge was hugely satisfying and to raise such a fantastic amount of money for the Children’s Heart Federation was the icing on top of the cake… or should I say peak!”
“The good news is that everyone came back! Everyone felt a huge sense of achievement from taking part in the challenge and we’re now busy planning our 2011 event.”
We would like to say a huge thank you to the LV= Team for supporting children with heart conditions and are very excited that they have decided to take on an even tougher challenge this year in support of Children’s Heart Federation. Thank you! The success of the LV= Broker Three Peaks Challenge shows how the combined efforts of a team of intrepid fundraisers can achieve great things!
