Jonathan was lucky enough to secure a place for the Virgin London Marathon this year. Having looked forward to the run for about 6 months, Jonathan’s training all paid off in the end, when he completed the run in just 4 hours and 9 minutes. Although it rained, we’re sure the runners would all agree that the conditions were perfect for a marathon.
Jonathan took part in a few training events before braving the 26.2 mile trek across London, putting plenty of time aside to make sure that he was fully prepared.
He did an absolutely amazing job in fundraising for the UK’s leading children’s heart charity, raising an astonishing £3000 for our heart families. His money will go towards providing both INR machines and family support grants.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do the marathon. It really is an unforgettable experience, especially for someone who hadn’t run more than 6 miles since leaving school!”
And we’re pleased to say that Jonathan made it to the end with no major injuries – just a few sore toes!
Thank you Jonathan for all your hard work!
